PRP against hair loss

Stimulate the follicles and strengthen hair growth with PRP

Have you started shedding more hair than usual, or feel stuck in how to counteract hair loss? PRP treatment uses your own blood plasma, rich in growth factors, to activate resting follicles and strengthen existing hair growth.

Stimulate the follicles and

What is PRP?

Stimulation with your own blood

PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma. A PRP treatment uses your own blood to activate follicles and skin cells naturally, without chemicals or additives.

How does PRP work?

From blood sample to active plasma

First we take a small blood sample. The blood is then spun in a centrifuge that separates the plasma from the rest of the blood. The plasma contains platelets that carry growth factors. This concentrated plasma is injected into the scalp, beard or brows.

Why it works

Growth factors strengthen the follicles

When PRP is injected into the scalp the platelets start to work and release their growth signals. This activates blood circulation around the follicles and strengthens their ability to produce new hair.

Growth factors bring the follicles to life

Why it works

When PRP is injected into the scalp, concentrated growth factors are released that signal the follicles to enter their growth phase. New blood vessels form around each follicle, which ensures better nutrient supply and oxygenation.

The result: hair strands that live longer, grow thicker and shed less. For those with hereditary hair loss, PRP can delay the progression by several years. For hair transplant patients, PRP improves healing and density of the result.

What PRP achieves

  • → Slows hereditary hair loss
  • → Activates dormant follicles
  • → Extends the hair’s growth phase
  • → Produces thicker and stronger strands
  • → Improves the result of hair transplants
  • → Natural method without chemical additives
The science behind PRP

The growth factors that wake the follicles

PRP is not a chemical product, it is the body’s own signalling molecules concentrated in the right place. Here is the hair cycle and the five most important growth factors that work in your scalp after a treatment.

The hair cycle

Hair grows in three phases that repeat throughout life

Growth phase

anagen phase

The hair strand grows actively for several years.

Resting phase

telogen phase

The follicle takes a pause but remains in place.

Shedding phase

catagen phase

The hair strand loosens and is replaced by a new one.

The problem appears when too many follicles enter the resting phase at the same time, or when they become too weak to start a new cycle. The hair then thins over time.

The five most important growth factors

Five signalling molecules that work in your scalp

PDGF, the repairer

Builds up the tissue around the follicle and strengthens its anchoring.

VEGF, the oxygen supplier

Helps the body form more small blood vessels so the follicles get better access to oxygen and nutrients.

IGF-1, the growth extender

Keeps the follicles active longer in the growth phase, which contributes to denser hair.

EGF, the skin’s builder

Improves the environment in the skin around the follicle so it can function without irritation.

TGF-β, the balance

Ensures that growth happens at the right pace and that the skin recovers after the treatment.

In short: PRP places the body’s own signalling molecules exactly where they do the most good, right next to the follicles.

What drives the result

Factors that affect the result

  • How many active follicles you still have
  • How long the hair loss has been ongoing
  • Heredity and hormonal factors
  • Lifestyle such as nutrition, stress and sleep

We assess this at the consultation and set a realistic plan.

Scientific basis

The research for PRP

  • Studies show that PRP can increase hair density and strand diameter where follicles remain
  • Improvement is often noticed after 3-6 months
  • Follow-up and maintenance are needed to preserve the effect
  • We update our methods continuously and adapt the protocol to your situation

PRP FOR MALE HAIR LOSS

Strengthen the follicles and slow hair loss with PRP

Have you noticed receding temples, a hairline that has moved back or a crown that has become sparser? Male hair loss affects 80% of men during their lifetime and often starts as early as the mid-20s.

With PRP we strengthen the environment around the follicles with growth factors from your own blood. This slows hair loss, wakes resting follicles and strengthens existing hair. A natural method that works both on its own and as a complement to a hair transplant.

PRP FOR FEMALE HAIR LOSS

Stimulate the follicles and increase hair density with PRP

Have you noticed the hair becoming thinner or that your parting shows more than before? Many women experience changes in their hair during different stages of life, postpartum, menopause or alongside hormonal changes.

With PRP we strengthen the environment around the follicles with growth factors from your own blood. More strands can grow and the hair can regain volume and density where it has thinned.

PRP for beard growth

Get a denser and more even beard

PRP with your own growth factors activates passive follicles and strengthens the active ones, for a fuller beard where it was previously sparse.

Growth factors activate passive follicles

PRP contains growth factors that can prompt follicles in the skin to start producing hair again.

Active follicles produce stronger strands

Follicles that are already active get support to create more robust hair strands, making the beard more resilient.

Small blood vessels supply the beard with nutrients

PRP encourages more small blood vessels to form around the follicles. This means oxygen and nutrients reach them more easily, strengthening growth.

The result is a fuller and more even beard

The beard gains more strands and grows more evenly, even in areas that were previously sparse.

PRP for eyebrows

Questions & answers about PRP for eyebrows

The growth factors in PRP activate passive follicles in the brows, for denser strands, more defined shape and a natural result without chemicals.

How does PRP work for eyebrows?

The growth factors in PRP stimulate the follicles in the brows to start producing hair again. This can result in denser, stronger strands and a more defined shape.

When do you see results?

Most people see a gradual improvement after three to four treatments. The follicles need time to respond, so the result builds up over time.

Is PRP safe for eyebrows?

Yes. Because PRP uses your own blood there is no risk of allergy or rejection. We also use milder doses around the sensitive eye area.

How many treatments are needed?

A series of three to four treatments usually gives a noticeable difference. After that, maintenance once a year is enough to preserve the result.

Safety and alternatives

How PRP compares to cosmetic brow treatments

  • PRP is a safe alternative to microblading. Microblading deposits pigment in the skin that fades in 1-3 years and can cause scarring. PRP activates your own hair growth so the brows become denser with living follicles, entirely without chemicals.
  • PRP differs from cosmetic brow treatments. Tinting, lamination and henna temporarily change the appearance of the hair you already have. PRP works at follicle level to create more hair and improve density over time.
01What is PRP treatment for hair?
PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is taken from your own blood, centrifuged and injected into the scalp. The concentrated growth factors stimulate the follicles, slow hair loss and strengthen hair growth.
02How many treatments are needed?
We recommend an initial course of 3-4 treatments with 4-6 weeks in between. Maintenance treatments every 6 months keep the result.
03Is PRP painful?
We apply a numbing cream to the treatment area. Most people experience only mild discomfort, similar to a mosquito bite.
04When is the result visible?
Reduced hair loss is usually noticed after 4-6 weeks. New growth and denser hair show at 3-4 months. The final result is reached after the completed initial course (around 6 months).
05What does PRP for hair cost?
Hair Standard 4,300 SEK, Hair XL (extended area) 4,800 SEK, Hair Mini (smaller area or after a hair transplant) 2,500 SEK. Fixed price at booking.
06Is PRP included in the hair transplant?
Yes, four PRP treatments are automatically included in all our hair transplants as part of the aftercare for optimal healing and growth.
07Are there side effects?
Since PRP comes from your own blood the risk of allergic reactions is essentially zero. Mild redness and swelling for 1-2 days is normal.
08Who is PRP suitable for?
PRP works best for early to moderate hair loss where the follicles are still active. For more advanced hair loss we recommend combining it with a hair transplant.
