Microneedling

Renew the skin from within with Microneedling & PRP

Microchannels activate the skin’s own collagen and elastin production. When we add PRP from your own blood, the growth factors are absorbed deeper than any cream can reach, for a more even skin tone, firmer texture and a naturally radiant result.

Renew the skin from within with
Growth factors and collagen in concert

Why microneedling renews the skin

When the fine needles pass through the skin, thousands of microscopic channels are created, too small to break the skin barrier but enough to activate the skin’s natural healing response.

The result is renewed skin that looks firmer, more even and more vibrant. When we combine with PRP, your growth factors get a direct route deep into the skin where they do the most good.

More about PRP for the skin

All about microneedling for the skin

Why choose PRP?
PRP is your own blood plasma, concentrated with growth factors from your own blood. That means no allergy risk, no chemical additives and a treatment that works with your body instead of against it. PRP strengthens the effect of microneedling by adding exactly the building blocks the skin needs to heal and renew, which is why we always combine the two techniques.
How does a PRP treatment work?
A treatment takes 60-90 minutes. We start with cleansing and applying numbing cream. A blood sample is taken from the arm and centrifuged for about 10 minutes, which separates the plasma from the blood. When the microneedling is done, PRP is applied directly to the skin so the growth factors reach deep into the channels. You can go home directly afterwards, any mild redness disappears within 24 hours.
1. How microneedling can renew your skin
Microneedling with Dermapen and PRP restores the skin’s firmness, evens out the skin tone, reduces redness, improves the texture and strengthens the skin in scars, all by activating the body’s own collagen and elastin production. The result is skin that looks firmer, more even and more radiant, naturally and long term.
6. Microneedling for dark circles & bags under the eyes
The skin under the eyes is thin and easily shows dark circles as blood vessels shine through. Microneedling with PRP thickens the upper layer of the skin through new collagen formation, which reduces the visibility of underlying vessels. Bags can be softened by improved lymphatic circulation. The area is extra sensitive so we use shorter needle depths there.
2. How does microneedling differ from other treatments?
Unlike chemical peels, laser or botox, microneedling works with the body’s own healing power. No chemicals, no heat, no fillers. This makes the treatment safe for all skin types and skin colours, even sensitive skin. The effect appears gradually over weeks instead of immediately, which gives a natural result that doesn’t look like a treatment, just better skin.
7. Microneedling for acne, acne scars, scars & burns
The microchannels break down old scar tissue and trigger new formation of healthy skin. For acne scars, results are usually clear after 3-6 treatments, depressions are filled out and the skin tone evens. PRP speeds up healing and reduces the risk of pigmentation. The treatment is not appropriate for active acne with inflamed outbreaks, we wait until the skin is calm.
3. Microneedling for wrinkles, fine lines & lax skin
As we age the body’s production of collagen and elastin decreases. This leads to thinner skin, fine lines and lost firmness. Microneedling with PRP signals to the skin’s fibroblasts, the cells that build collagen, to produce more of these proteins. The result: firmer skin, softer lines, preserved youthful structure. Best effect on fine lines around the eyes, mouth and forehead.
8. PRP & microneedling with Dermapen
Dermapen is a medically approved microneedling system with digitally adjustable needle depth, which makes it safer and more precise than traditional rollers. When we combine Dermapen with PRP you get a treatment that is both mechanically activating (the channels trigger repair) and biologically strengthening (the growth factors drive healing), one of the most effective skincare treatments available.
4. Microneedling for sun damage, pigmentation & uneven tone
UV radiation breaks down the skin’s support tissue and creates uneven pigmentation. Microneedling stimulates the renewal of damaged skin cells and evens the tone by activating the skin’s own renewal mechanisms. Combined with PRP, the skin receives growth factors that accelerate healing. Sun protection is extra important throughout the treatment period for the best result.
9. How microneedling helps the skin rebuild collagen & elastin
The microchannels activate the fibroblasts, the skin’s collagen and elastin producing cells. When the body registers the micro-injury it starts a repair process where new proteins are built up over 6-12 months. PRP strengthens this process by adding growth factors that drive fibroblast activity. The effect is scientifically documented in several clinical studies.
5. Microneedling for redness & rosacea
In redness and rosacea the skin barrier is weakened and the blood vessels are more visible. Microneedling in a mild form with shorter needle depth can strengthen the barrier over time and reduce visible vessels. We adapt the needle depth carefully based on your skin, the treatment is not appropriate during active rosacea flare-ups but is reserved for stable periods.
10. What do the microchannels do for the PRP growth factors during microneedling?
The microchannels work as a transport pathway for PRP. Normally growth factors are not absorbed through the upper layer of the skin, this is a biological barrier that creams cannot penetrate. When Dermapen creates thousands of microscopic openings, the PRP plasma can travel deep down to the basal cell layer and the dermis where the fibroblasts sit and where renewal actually takes place.

What is microneedling with Dermapen and PRP?

A combination of two technologies: Dermapen creates microscopic channels in the upper layer of the skin, and PRP (your own blood plasma) supplies concentrated growth factors that work deep in the skin. Together they activate the skin’s own building blocks, collagen and elastin, so renewal happens both faster and deeper.

How the treatment works

The Dermapen works with thin stylets that create small, controlled openings in the skin. The depth is adapted to different areas. PRP is taken from a standard blood sample and centrifuged so the plasma separates. The microchannels allow the growth factors in PRP to be absorbed where they do real good, in the deeper layers of the skin.

Why it works

The microchannels start the repair mechanically, fibroblasts (the skin’s collagen-producing cells) are activated. PRP strengthens the process biologically with your body’s own signalling molecules. The result is skin that feels stronger, looks smoother and regains its firmness and elasticity, both on the surface and deeper down.

All about microneedling for the skin

Microneedling with Dermapen + PRP in depth

Here we go through the treatment, results, recovery and adaptations, for you who want to understand the method in detail.

1. How microneedling renews the skin

How microneedling renews the skin deeply

When the skin becomes thinner, collagen and elastin decrease. The skin then loses its strength, firmness and evenness. Microneedling with Dermapen combined with PRP helps the skin rebuild these important substances from the inside.

  • Improves the skin’s firmness and reduces fine lines by stimulating collagen and elastin production
  • Evens out skin tone and reduces pigmentation, sun damage and uneven complexion
  • Reduces redness, visible blood vessels and symptoms of sensitive skin by strengthening the skin barrier and reducing inflammation
  • Improves the skin’s texture by reducing acne scars and unevenness, the skin becomes smoother and more hydrated
  • Strengthens the skin and speeds up healing of scars, burns and skin damage by activating cell renewal

2. What Dermapen and PRP involve

What Dermapen and PRP involve

Dermapen is an advanced microneedling tool that uses thin stylets to create controlled microinjuries in the skin. This starts the body’s natural repair and stimulates new formation of collagen and elastin. PRP is added from your own blood, concentrated growth factors that work in the skin’s cells and strengthen the regeneration where it is needed most.

  • Dermapen starts the repair through mechanical stimulation
  • PRP improves the process biologically with the body’s own signalling molecules
  • Together they give a visible improvement of the skin surface and build up the skin’s long-term strength from within

4. Recovery and results

Recovery and results over time

The skin recovers step by step. With PRP, recovery is usually faster and results last longer because the body’s own growth factors strengthen the healing process.

  • Immediately after: the skin is red and warm, similar to a mild sunburn
  • Within 1-3 days: redness subsides and the skin feels dry
  • After 2-4 weeks: the skin surface feels more even and smoother
  • After 6-12 months: the skin’s strength and firmness are clearly improved as new collagen builds up

5. How often do you need treatment?

Treatment frequency and start-up

An initial course is usually 3-4 treatments with a few weeks between them. When PRP is used you usually need fewer treatments than microneedling alone, because PRP strengthens the skin’s response. At the consultation we make an individual assessment of your needs and how many treatments give the best result.

6. Aftercare

Aftercare for microneedling and PRP

For the first 24 hours the skin may feel mildly red. During this time it is important to avoid make-up, exercise, sauna and bathing in spas or jacuzzis. Strong skincare products, especially those containing acids, can make the skin more sensitive and should wait until the skin has stabilised. Sunlight affects the skin more than usual right after microneedling. Sun protection is therefore extra important throughout the treatment period. At the same time, the skin is extra receptive to hydration the first days, and mild, nourishing skincare can provide good support during recovery.

How a treatment is
01What is microneedling?
Microneedling is a treatment where we use a Dermapen to create microscopic channels in the upper layer of the skin. The channels trigger the body’s natural healing process and stimulate new production of collagen and elastin.
02How often can I have a treatment?
We recommend 4-6 weeks between treatments. An initial course is 3-6 sessions depending on the starting condition of the skin. Maintenance every 6 months after that.
03Does microneedling hurt?
We always use a numbing cream 30 minutes before the treatment. Most people experience only a mild scraping or vibrating sensation, not pain. The area can feel tender for 1-2 days afterwards.
04What does microneedling cost?
Microneedling with Dermapen + PRP costs 5,800 SEK per treatment. Add an additional area + 1,500 SEK. Fixed price at booking with no hidden fees.
05Why is microneedling combined with PRP?
The microchannels make the upper layer of the skin permeable. When we then apply PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma from your own blood) the growth factors are absorbed deeper than creams ever could reach. The combination strengthens both result and healing.
06Can I get numbing cream?
Yes, numbing cream is always applied 30 minutes before the treatment so the procedure is as comfortable as possible.
07What is the difference compared to other skin treatments?
Microneedling uses the body’s own healing power, no chemical peels, no heat or laser. This makes the treatment safe for all skin types and skin colours, even sensitive skin. The result appears naturally over weeks rather than immediately.
08When is the result visible?
Directly after the treatment the skin looks more radiant. Real change in texture and firmness shows after 2-4 weeks when new collagen has formed. After a full course (3-6 treatments) the improvement is clear and lasts 6-12 months before maintenance is needed.
09How long is the recovery time?
Mild redness for 12-24 hours is common, similar to a light sunburn. Most people return to work the next day. Use mineral sun protection, avoid make-up for 24 hours and strong sun for a week.
10Does microneedling help the skin rebuild collagen and elastin?
Yes, that is the whole point. The microchannels signal to fibroblasts (the skin’s collagen and elastin producers) to build new tissue. The effect is scientifically documented in several clinical studies.
11Who is the treatment not suitable for?
For active acne (with inflamed outbreaks), open wounds, skin infections, herpes outbreaks in the area, or if you have taken isotretinoin (Roaccutane) within the last 6 months, the treatment should be postponed. Always share your medical history at the consultation.
