Why choose PRP?⌄
PRP is your own blood plasma, concentrated with growth factors from your own blood. That means no allergy risk, no chemical additives and a treatment that works with your body instead of against it. PRP strengthens the effect of microneedling by adding exactly the building blocks the skin needs to heal and renew, which is why we always combine the two techniques.
How does a PRP treatment work?⌄
A treatment takes 60-90 minutes. We start with cleansing and applying numbing cream. A blood sample is taken from the arm and centrifuged for about 10 minutes, which separates the plasma from the blood. When the microneedling is done, PRP is applied directly to the skin so the growth factors reach deep into the channels. You can go home directly afterwards, any mild redness disappears within 24 hours.
1. How microneedling can renew your skin⌄
Microneedling with Dermapen and PRP restores the skin’s firmness, evens out the skin tone, reduces redness, improves the texture and strengthens the skin in scars, all by activating the body’s own collagen and elastin production. The result is skin that looks firmer, more even and more radiant, naturally and long term.
6. Microneedling for dark circles & bags under the eyes⌄
The skin under the eyes is thin and easily shows dark circles as blood vessels shine through. Microneedling with PRP thickens the upper layer of the skin through new collagen formation, which reduces the visibility of underlying vessels. Bags can be softened by improved lymphatic circulation. The area is extra sensitive so we use shorter needle depths there.
2. How does microneedling differ from other treatments?⌄
Unlike chemical peels, laser or botox, microneedling works with the body’s own healing power. No chemicals, no heat, no fillers. This makes the treatment safe for all skin types and skin colours, even sensitive skin. The effect appears gradually over weeks instead of immediately, which gives a natural result that doesn’t look like a treatment, just better skin.
7. Microneedling for acne, acne scars, scars & burns⌄
The microchannels break down old scar tissue and trigger new formation of healthy skin. For acne scars, results are usually clear after 3-6 treatments, depressions are filled out and the skin tone evens. PRP speeds up healing and reduces the risk of pigmentation. The treatment is not appropriate for active acne with inflamed outbreaks, we wait until the skin is calm.
3. Microneedling for wrinkles, fine lines & lax skin⌄
As we age the body’s production of collagen and elastin decreases. This leads to thinner skin, fine lines and lost firmness. Microneedling with PRP signals to the skin’s fibroblasts, the cells that build collagen, to produce more of these proteins. The result: firmer skin, softer lines, preserved youthful structure. Best effect on fine lines around the eyes, mouth and forehead.
8. PRP & microneedling with Dermapen⌄
Dermapen is a medically approved microneedling system with digitally adjustable needle depth, which makes it safer and more precise than traditional rollers. When we combine Dermapen with PRP you get a treatment that is both mechanically activating (the channels trigger repair) and biologically strengthening (the growth factors drive healing), one of the most effective skincare treatments available.
4. Microneedling for sun damage, pigmentation & uneven tone⌄
UV radiation breaks down the skin’s support tissue and creates uneven pigmentation. Microneedling stimulates the renewal of damaged skin cells and evens the tone by activating the skin’s own renewal mechanisms. Combined with PRP, the skin receives growth factors that accelerate healing. Sun protection is extra important throughout the treatment period for the best result.
9. How microneedling helps the skin rebuild collagen & elastin⌄
The microchannels activate the fibroblasts, the skin’s collagen and elastin producing cells. When the body registers the micro-injury it starts a repair process where new proteins are built up over 6-12 months. PRP strengthens this process by adding growth factors that drive fibroblast activity. The effect is scientifically documented in several clinical studies.
5. Microneedling for redness & rosacea⌄
In redness and rosacea the skin barrier is weakened and the blood vessels are more visible. Microneedling in a mild form with shorter needle depth can strengthen the barrier over time and reduce visible vessels. We adapt the needle depth carefully based on your skin, the treatment is not appropriate during active rosacea flare-ups but is reserved for stable periods.
10. What do the microchannels do for the PRP growth factors during microneedling?⌄
The microchannels work as a transport pathway for PRP. Normally growth factors are not absorbed through the upper layer of the skin, this is a biological barrier that creams cannot penetrate. When Dermapen creates thousands of microscopic openings, the PRP plasma can travel deep down to the basal cell layer and the dermis where the fibroblasts sit and where renewal actually takes place.
